Another Bush distraction

April 19th, 2007 by Mrs. YL

My heart truly goes out to the entire state of Virginia.

However, 32 people are dying everyday in this war.  The Iraq news has conveniently  been routed to the 5th or 6th page of the news.  Is this the media or something else?

We just want an education

April 17th, 2007 by Mrs. YL

I guess days are gone of having metal detectors in just the “bad schools”.

What happened at Virginia Tech was a tragedy.  My prayers and condolences go out to the families, faculty and remaining students.  May the peace of God carry you through.

New Scam

April 12th, 2007 by Mrs. YL

There is a new scam out to get your banking information.  Persons are issued large checks (2,000 - 5,000)  payable to you.  No return address!  Checks appear as though it’s money owed to you.  Once presented for payment at you bank, all your personal information has been turned over.  Even at the check cashing place.  When the scam begins they only know your name and address, once the check is cashed or attempted to be cashed all your information is up for grabs.  They prey on anyone.

Be careful.  Nothing is free and if someone does owe you money they will use a return address

CPE Exam

I took the test Friday morning, all six of us.  Does passing this exam mean…. that’s all you need to know, sad.

My 1st grader

I almost feel sorry for my daughter.  Her homework load is almost as heavy as mine.  I am concerned that all this homework is building a low tolerance for education.  Is all this homework necessary?  And why do I pay for after school, her homework is still incomplete when she gets home.  And what about the assistant teacher that gives her the answers so she can go outside to play.  Unbelievable!

Do I read Snow Crash, by Neal Stephson?

The Diamond Age continues to unravel at an accelerated pace.  I am now on quest to get to the end of the book.  Characters are to starting to meet and mingle, all by happen stance.  Stephenson has got me on the edge of my seat.  I sure hope the climax is as good as the anticipation.

I did it!

Thanks to COM 110 I posted by first blog today on MSN.  Topic was Suzie Orman and I had something to say.  Since we have been blogging in class, the place to blog was familiar.  Very proud of myself.

Diamond Age

Today I finally caught up with the class.  Page 180,whew.  All in all the book is not bad. Don’t think I would be reading this book without be prompted, but that’s what school is about.

The last 20 pages appears that the author is looking for something else to say.  I’ts like he is setting the stage after actors have already performed.

Gonna stop here just wanted to blog when I caught up.  See you in the discussion board.
