I am writing this post in support of the Virigina Tech families, my heart goes out to them at this time of great sorrow. No words can truly express what people fell in times like these and only time can reall heal.
I also would like to say that the media should really stop protraying this individual as some lost soul, he has had his 15 minutes, now it is time to concentrate on the victims and let them and their families heal.
This is an article that I just received via email. It not only angers me that people can be so insentitive or just plain ignorant, but than to pass the blame onto others as if it just doesnt matter. When do we stand up and take charge of how we will be treated, that woman should have sent that furniture back without a second thought,e specially when no one wanted to take responsiblity. That ‘mishap’ was not a mishap at all it was what has been accepted by whom ever that have been previously selling to, where it has become the norm and accepted by others.. I finally figured out where some of my previous post were, there were sort of in storage. I hadn’t clicked to save and then publish so they were saved as drafts…duhhhh (I’m still learning).. This course, computer stuff, is really interesting and I enjoy learning new things about the computer and the cyber world but at the same time it can be quite frustrating as well when I just cant get it right. Maybe now that I kind of understand this part of it I can move on to something else and accomplish some other new feature. Just imagine I thought I was rather computer literate until I enrolled in this class.
Well I fooled myself again, I sent this somewhere else and I had to retrieve it again…I think I have it this time.
Why did we have to read this article and than have questions relating to it. It was a back and forth thing for me, read it, than go over the questions, than read it again. Was there some really important aspect of this information that I missed. I love to read and find out new things, but with so much to read and work to be done for my other classes, this was not what I wanted to spend my time on. Because this course/class is based on investigating, researching on line, I guess this was suppose to be of interest to the students, but not for me. Did anyone else feel the same way or am I just not getting it.
I just read a blog of another student and I wanted to respond to her blog to let her know that I agreed with her. She stated about how she is a full time worker and she decided to take an on line course because she thought that she would be able to create her own schedule. Well she and I have found out that is not the case. An on line course is much more work and much more time consuming than actually going into the class. Did I thinkt hat it was going to be a piece of cake…no, I did not, but I had no idea that I was going to be required to spend so much time on line per class per day. She also mentioned the new technology that is required and the time that we have to learn this and implement it into our assignment within a weeks time along with other assignments. Yes I am well aware that we are all adults and have responsibilities and we are not here to be baby sat , but I am sure, she like me, had we been properly informed or I will even go as far to say, that if we had investigated further we would have done things differently. Overall I must say that the Prof is/has been very helpful and patient. Okay now I get to the point in question….while signing in so that I could comment on this student’s page I was taken to another page and I couldnt get back to her page so I decided to write a blog of my own, simply because I am still trying to find my way around….
This is my first blog, yeah I know that I am waaaaay behind. At first I couldnt figure out what I was doing, then I couldnt figure out how to get back here. Then when I found out how to do that I was so bogged down with other lessons that I kept forgeting to find my way back here and do what was required to do. This course is really something, no one informed me that it would be so much reading. I also didnt know that I would be required to be on line for so many hours for each class. We have begun the 7th week of assignments and I am still catching up, thank goodness in one class there is no reading for this week and thank you Prof. Gold for giving us the opportunity to catch up as well and your understanding with the problems that we may be experiencing. I used to love to read but have never had to read so much in all my life in such a short period, and I love to read. All in all, I am enjoying the course for the most part and anticipating my final results. I hope to be able to get back to this page on the board in a timely manner and continue to keep up with my assignments.
