Robert moses was not a topic that we had to blog about in class, but i felt that the English class should know a little more about him. i thank izzy for introducing such a person to my attention. i was surprised that i had never heard of him when he has done so much to the city i live in and love. From all the articles that i have read about him it either goes one way or another, People see him as a genius or people hate him. in my opinion i see him and admire his level of ambition and dedication to what he did. he came came up with an idea and he made it happen. Not a lot of people can say they did everything they have wanted to accomplish but i think Robert Moses got pretty close to. The thing that made people dislike him was his tactics to achieve what he wanted. Many people wont know that he built parks, highways, bridges, playgrounds, housing, tunnels, beaches, zoos, civic centers, exhibition halls and the 1964-65 New York World’s Fair. For his high ways hundreds of miles long, he had to take people’s properties houses. If anyone was affected my this i would only imagine they would dislike him. When i look at his accomplishment i just see him visionary who has benefited us now in the present day. i enjoyed one of his greatest works directly this past summer. i went to Jones beach at least twice every week. He was the one who turned Jones beach to the beach it is now. He is going to be my topic for this final essay. i will write about the controversy of building north and south sate parkway in long. Its local to me because that was my way to the beach and to work all summer.

IF any body is as interested in him as much as me you can read more about him by going to the link by the new york times written the day after he died.

I really didn’t know if i had to blog about this article but i still did.By reading this article, it has mad me aware of how much my family and i consume cheese. I cant believe that Dairy Managementpromotes that cheese is healthy and that it could be used in diary diets and also show and know that it actually is the leading reason for over consumption of saturated fat. Dairy management really went all out by teaming up with companies to use more cheese. In my eyes i think it’s all just a business its never really about the health of the people. On another note, now that I’m aware that i shouldnt eat as much cheese im going to try to watch out for all these cheesy products. Hopefully i lose a couple pounds in the process.

This advertisment is a advertising a pink, low cal energy drink named TAB. I couldnt really find a way around this, but i felt like it had a dark meaning. The way it could be interpreted was that you could fake a night like a date ( but i really think they meant it in a dirty way for example : fake having pleasurable sex) but dont purchase a fake handbag. The advertisment wants to show a way a women could fake a night. she may do that by taking a TAB energy drink. The image shows as it if a women is at a date. The women in my opinion is posted as regular person but only if she takes the enegery drink will she project streaght or the power to fake a night. i really dont like to over think about gender roles. i feel how many people over think this subject and just complicate things. It creates this whole idea of how there a roles . If i really had to give an opinion about it it would be that a girl is not the only one that could fake a good night, but the image does not support that idea.

The product that is being adrvisted is under wear for men, and the product on the ad is on the male. i guess that the overall message of the add is that if u waer it u might feel like thats how u are going to look like with it on. The image contrust the gaze of a male that looks strong confident and bold, and that the product might make u feel like that. it really donest have nothing to do with gender role, but it kinda of upsets me when they say its degrading when women to pose in the under wear. but no one has stopped and thought that males pose the same way and its not degrading. its really hard to explain.. going to talk more about this on class…….
